Talks brew over alcohol sales at Tiger Stadium

BATON ROUGE - LSU fans say they welcome the idea of being able to enjoy a cold brew in Tiger Stadium.

The SEC is prepared to review the alcohol policy for any neutral site game or home game played off campus, according to a report.

LSU athletic director Joe Alleva told News 2, "that serving beer at LSU games is something that should be studied and discussed."

Some fans say selling booze at the games could boost attendance and raise revenue.

"The school would make a lot of money, but it probably wouldn't be the best idea because if you've ever been tailgating, people are already completely wasted, " said Morgan Cook, an LSU student.

Other fans are concerned about fans being too rowdy.

"It would probably be real crazy in Tiger Stadium, crazier then it already is. If they are selling beer then probably everyone would be drunk," said Jalen Doucet, an LSU student

Alcohol is sold in the private suites and on the club levels.

If the SEC opened the sale of alcoholic beverages to more fans, the ultimate decision would still be based on a school-by-school basis.
